The pink uke is done!
I haven’t had a chance to work on my step-daughter’s pink uke in awhile, but today I painted on the requested cat paw. I was going to put a couple coats of clear coat on it, but I noticed a small seam chip. I ordered a touch up pen, and will do the finishing coats in a few weeks.
I haven’t had the time to work on the pink uke lately, but I did manage to glue on the bridge over the weekend.
Sorry to keep bringing out videos from last summer, but I thought kidontheroad http://kidontheroad.tumblr.com/ might be interested to see how my first Grizzly uke turned out.
It’s a rainy weekend, so I’m working on my step daughter’s uke today, and will also work on the dulcimer tomorrow.
I’m using a Grizzly uke kit for her uke. For only $25 you really can’t go wrong with this kit if you want to make one yourself. It’s a little soft sounding, but that’s OK because you made it!
I’m also using it as an excuse to practice spray painting before I start on my telecaster later this summer. I bought shell pink paint from Guitar ReRanch, which is their version of a color available on a 1963 Fender, for this uke. I also bought their clear coat to give the uke a shiny finish. By request I’ll paint cat paws in black on the body.
